\nOur graduates are leading departments at Amazon, Google, and other top companies; working in security and design for the government, as well as teaching and leading research at national and international universities.<\/p>\n

Library and Information Science<\/h3>\n

We are proud to have the only library and information science master’s program in the state of Missouri that is accredited by the American Library Association. Our program was first accredited in 1966\/67, and has been continuously accredited ever since. Our graduates work in 48 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and nine countries. Invited graduates can also join our Psi Chapter<\/a> of Beta Phi Mu, the LIS honor society.<\/p>\n

Our alumni pursue a variety of positions. An internal survey in Spring 2016 revealed that 36% of our respondents chose a career as a public librarian. Another 36% are using their library degrees to work in academic libraries, in positions like archivist, head of collections, and e-learning librarians. Finally, 20% of respondents work as special librarians or information specialists, working for corporations and the government as curators, information specialists, and system administrators.<\/p>\n

Other graduates have chosen to work in the school systems as school library media specialists and media coordinators. Graduates pursuing the Learning Design & Development (LDD) pathway are prepared to work with both information resources and the information and communication technologies.<\/p>\n

Learning Technologies and Design<\/h3>\n

Alumni of our Learning Technologies program work in user experience, instructional design, web development, and information architecture at companies like Apple, Google, Amazon, Scholastic, Walmart, and the Sheraton Hotel Group. Many of our graduates also work in academia and the public school system as educators, administrators, and consultants. Currently, graduates are on faculty at institutions such as Cornell University, Tamkang University, and Indiana University.<\/p>\n

With our AECT endorsed e-learning certificate we are giving educators the chance to further their knowledge for the ever growing field of online learning. This certificate can help recipients advance their careers in education, health care, and in any job where online learning is a key component.<\/p>\n

Networking: SISLT Alumni Careers Meet SISLT Students<\/h3>\n

The Learning Technologies program presents two panel discussion webinars featuring six Learning Technologies alumni discussing their careers. The purpose is to connect our alumni and share successful career stories and to introduce current students to alumni and the Mizzou Alumni Association.<\/p>\n
