Prepare for jobs in an expanding field where online education is used in schools, universities, industry, health care, museums, and other learning settings.<\/p>\n<p>The curriculum consists of 12 graduate credit hours that may be transferred into SISLT\u2019s M.S. or Ed.S programs in Learning Technologies and Design and its two emphasis areas: Online Education, Technology in Schools.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"h3\" style=\"color: #bd5c2c;\" href=\"https:\/\/missouri.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_6lNiK42AmiLAedo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK here to request more information!<\/a><\/p>\n<section id=\"standards\">\n<h3>Standards Alignment<\/h3>\n<p>The required courses in the Online Educator Certificate program meet these AECT standards found at <a href=\"https:\/\/aect.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/aect.org\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-unstyled\">\n<li><strong>AECT Standard 1 (Content Knowledge)<\/strong>: Candidates demonstrate the knowledge necessary to create, use, assess, and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational technologies and processes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AECT Standard 2 (Content Pedagogy)<\/strong>: Candidates develop as reflective practitioners able to demonstrate effective implementation of educational technologies and processes based on contemporary content and pedagogy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AECT Standard 3 (Learning Environments)<\/strong>: Candidates facilitate learning by creating, using, evaluating, and managing effective learning environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"requirements\">\n<h3>Certificate Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>The program requires 12 credit hours and includes course work in these categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Required (9 credit hours)<\/li>\n<li>Approved Electives (3 credit hours)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/mailmissouri.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/s\/MUCEDUC-Ogrp-WebDocuments\/Ec5pwig2zYJIv2LCMKka9hEBFtSsKgE_rH3C6BiyC3opCA?e=We4Jlt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Online Educator Certificate Plan of Study.pdf<\/a> for program details.<\/p>\n<p>See descriptions of all <a href=\"https:\/\/cehd.missouri.edu\/information-science-learning-technologies\/courses\/\">SISLT Courses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sislt.missouri.edu\/LT-Course-Rotation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See Tentative LT Course Rotation<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"apply\">\n<h3>Apply<\/h3>\n<h4>Admission Materials and Criteria<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A GPA of 3.0 or higher (A=4.0) on the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work.<\/li>\n<li>Resume summarizing education and relevant experience.<\/li>\n<li>A statement of purpose that demonstrates your goals align with our program.<\/li>\n<li>GRE scores are <strong>not<\/strong> required.<\/li>\n<li>English language proficiency (international applicants only): TOEFL score of 4.5, IELTS score of 6.5, or equivalent score on an equivalent test accepted by the University of Missouri Graduate School.
