ParentLink and the MU School of Law Child & Family Justice Clinic are hosting free legal informational clinics and a legal workshop for grandparents, relatives, and non-relative loved ones who are raising children when the parents cannot.
Informational Legal Clinics: October 9 and October 23
- Receive information from qualified law students about legal options such as guardianship, adoption, and power of attorney
- Receive resources for family mediation
- Free meal and childcare provided
Legal Workshop: November 13
- Have a one-on-one conversation with a qualified law student about legal options such as guardianship, adoption, and power of attorney
- Receive assistance on completing paperwork to file with the court
- Discuss next steps in your case and determine a path forward to achieve the desired outcome
- Receive resources for family mediation
- Free meal and childcare provided
Schedule for each event:
- 5:45 p.m. Childcare drop-off in cafeteria
- 6:00-7:30 p.m. Legal clinic or workshop in media center
- 7:45 p.m. Childcare pickup from cafeteria
