Dr. Danial Boatman is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Masters of Education in Educational and Counseling Psychology, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis all from the University of Missouri. Prior to joining ELPA, Dr. Boatman served in K-12 public education for over 31 years as a teacher, counselor, school principal, and district administrator. During those 31 years, Dr. Boatman served in both rural and suburban school districts.

Dr. Boatman served as a building principal for 17 years. His building principal leadership was guided by his research in Professional Learning Communities and driven by his passion to maximize learning opportunities for all students. Dr. Boatman’s district leadership included serving as the Executive Director for Teaching and Learning in the Ft. Zumwalt School District. His building principal experiences and district level leadership provided meaningful opportunities to work closely with principals on school improvement planning and principal development. Dr. Boatman has provided leadership for many district improvement initiatives focused on reading achievement, virtual learning, curriculum development, instructional coaching, multi-tiered systems of support, and school culture.
