Hanamori Skoblow

Dr. Hanamori Skoblow is a family gerontologist and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Center for Family Policy and Research. She earned her Ph.D. in Human Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Missouri in 2024.
Dr. Skoblow’s research examines social relationships and health in later life, with a particular focus on cognitive aging. She is Principal Investigator on two active studies focused on dementia care networks in single- and multi-child families with support from the NIH/NIA (K99) and the Alzheimer’s Association (AARF). She is also Co-Investigator on a clinical trial aimed at targeting insomnia symptoms among spousal caregivers for a person living with dementia funded by the EMBRACE Roybal Center, as well as an NIA-funded R01 project targeting spousal interdependence in sleep and cognitive functioning over time.
Her research has been published in top-tier academic journals, including Developmental Review, The Gerontologist, and The Journals of Gerontology, Series B: Psychological Sciences and Social Sciences. In 2022, she was selected as a Policy Intern with the Gerontological Society of America. In 2025, she was named a Mizzou Scholar of Distinction.
