Dr. Tim Tanner began his educational pathway with an A.A. from Hesston College (2000) and completed his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky (2018).  His professional experiences in student affairs, outdoor education, and religious education inform his practice as an Extension leader today.  In his administrative role, Dr. Tanner deploys 4-H professionals, volunteers, and teen leaders to promote social connection and work/life readiness through a positive youth development framework.  An emerging scholarly interest is the intersection between place-based youth development and rural community vitality.
