WaWanna Nehrkorn

WaWanna joined the Southeast region in July 2026, bringing more than 30 years of experience in Missouri public education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, a Master of Arts in Exceptional Child Education and Secondary Administration, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration.

Throughout her career, WaWanna has been dedicated to improving outcomes for students with disabilities. She served for 17 years as a Post-Secondary Transition Liaison with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and also worked as a District Transition Coordinator. Her passion lies in helping students develop the skills they need for successful post-secondary transition, empowering them to achieve their educational, career, and independent living goals.

WaWanna lives in Dexter, Missouri, with her husband and son. Their family also includes Lucy, a rambunctious and energetic 3-year-old Husky mix who keeps them on their toes. In her free time, WaWanna enjoys cooking, watching reality and cooking shows, and spending quality time with family and friends.

WaWanna serves students in the following schools:  Cape Girardeau, Chaffee, Delta, Division of Youth Services (Girardot, Hope Learning Center, Sears, and Sierra Osage), Jackson, Leopold, Meadow Heights, Notre Dame, Oak Ridge, Saxony Lutheran, and Woodland.
