The Office of Clinical Experiences & Partnerships connects students with the people, experiences and opportunities that help them succeed in college and beyond. Through field and clinical experiences, community partnerships, career development and certification support, the office helps students turn classroom learning into meaningful professional experiences.
While the office plays a central role in preparing future educators, its work extends across the College of Education & Human Development. Whether students are completing classroom field experiences, exploring career pathways, preparing for certification or participating in placements in schools, hospitals and community organizations, the office helps students gain the experience, confidence and professional connections needed for success.
Student Support
Clinical Experiences & Partnerships supports students throughout their academic journey, helping them navigate key milestones from their first professional experiences through graduation and beyond.
The office provides support through:
- Clinical and field experience coordination
- Student teaching placements
- Career readiness and professional development
- Certification guidance
- Employer and networking connections
- Individualized student support and coaching
From a student’s first placement to their first professional position, the office connects students with opportunities, resources and support systems that promote success.
Career Readiness
Preparing students for meaningful careers is a key part of the office’s mission. Through career coaching, employer connections, interview opportunities and professional development programming, students gain the tools needed to confidently transition into the workforce.
The office works closely with employers, alumni and community partners to help students explore careers, build professional networks and identify opportunities aligned with their goals. Major recruitment and networking events connect students directly with schools, organizations and employers seeking the next generation of professionals.
Certification
Professional certification is an important step for many careers in education and educational leadership. The Certification Office helps students understand requirements, navigate certification pathways and prepare for professional credentials in areas such as teaching, school counseling, library media and educational leadership.
Working in partnership with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), the office supports more than 40 state-approved educator preparation programs across the University of Missouri and serves as a resource for current students, alumni, school districts and prospective students exploring careers in education.
Partnerships
Strong partnerships are essential to student success. Clinical Experiences & Partnerships collaborates with schools, districts, healthcare providers, community organizations and state agencies to create high-quality learning experiences that benefit students and partners alike.
These relationships provide students with valuable real-world experiences while helping partner organizations engage with and support the next generation of educators and professionals.
