Mathematics Education (EdSp)
This degree is part of the Mathematics Education Program housed in the Department of Learning, Teaching and Curriculum.
The EdSp degree in mathematics education is intended for teachers who have already completed a master’s degree and are seeking additional education related to leadership, curriculum development, research and improving their own teaching skills.
This program is offered online and does not lead to certification.
Degree Requirements
To receive an EdSp in mathematics education, you must complete 30 credit hours beyond a master’s degree. Coursework is comprised of at least 15 hours at the 8000 level or higher. At least half the coursework must comprise education courses.
Apply
You must meet two sets of minimum qualifications in order to be considered for admission:
A committee of faculty members reviews your application’s credentials. You are not guaranteed admission even if you meet the minimum qualifications.

In addition to completing the Graduate Studies application, you must submit the following materials to the Department of Learning, Teaching and Curriculum:
- Unofficial transcript
- Statement of Purpose
- Three letters of recommendation
- TOEFL scores (international students only)
