Dr. Thitinun “Ta” Boonseng, a native of Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, embarked on a transformative journey when he participated in a cultural exchange program in his senior year of high school in Orlando, Florida. This experience sparked his passion for international programming and intercultural development, to which he has dedicated his career. He went on to complete each of his degrees at the University of Missouri, including a B.A. in Computer Science, an M.Ed. in Educational Technology, and a Ph.D. in Information Science and Learning Technologies with a graduate certificate in Organizational Change from the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs.
After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Boonseng worked as a Global Scholars Professional Enrichment Program Coordinator at the MU Asian Affairs Center and the Missouri International Training Institute. In 2016, Dr. Boonseng joined Mizzou Academy to found and establish the Mizzou International Experience (MIE), a summer program for domestic and international high school students. The program aims to explore students’ future careers while building international connections and fostering personal growth. Currently, Dr. Boonseng works on various virtual Extracurricular & Enrichment Experience program initiatives, creating a virtual global community that promotes exploration, connection, and development for students at Mizzou Academy.
Dr. Boonseng is passionate about youth development and leads the Personal Development and Character Education, and Career Planning courses in Mizzou Academy’s global program. At Mizzou, Dr. Boonseng serves as a Liaison for the Thai program at the MU Asian Affairs Center. He also teaches graduate courses, including “Cultural Backgrounds and Learning” and “Overview of Research Methods”, at the Department of Educational, School & Counseling Psychology (ESCP).
