Janecca A. Chin is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Family Policy and Research. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University in 2025.

Grounded in the life course perspective and drawing on nationally representative longitudinal data, her research examines how unpaid caregiving experiences shape caregivers’ own health and family relationships over time. She pays particular attention to the cumulative health effects of care provision and the reciprocal care expectations caregivers may hold for future support. Broadly, her research interests include older adult support networks, well-being, and family processes.

Her work has been published in leading journals, including Journal of Marriage and Family, The Gerontologist, and The Journals of Gerontology, Series B: Social Sciences.
