Emerging Leaders Conference logo

The Emerging Leaders Conference brings Missouri high school students to the University of Missouri for a unique opportunity to explore leadership, civic engagement and college readiness. Through interactive workshops, collaborative activities and hands-on learning experiences, participants develop leadership skills, build meaningful connections and gain insight into postsecondary opportunities.

Using a presentation-to-practice model, students will:

  • Explore issues impacting their schools and communities
  • Engage with diverse perspectives and viewpoints
  • Learn about the legislative process and civic leadership
  • Access valuable college planning and preparation resources

Conference sessions are led by Mizzou faculty, staff, students and professionals from across Missouri. A signature component of the experience is a visit to the Missouri State Capitol, where participants engage in mock committee hearings and legislative sessions hosted in partnership with the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus.
