The University of Missouri College of Education & Human Development is proud to announce the following faculty promotions, effective Sept. 1, 2023.

A nearly $520,000 grant will help a University of Missouri researcher improve students’ self-regulation and independence at school.

The College of Education and Human Development celebrated 317 undergraduate and 418 graduate students at commencement ceremonies last weekend.

The Missouri branch of the Milken Educator Awards program recently established the Missouri Teacher Leaders of Tomorrow Award, a special distinction to honor and celebrate the valuable contributions of student teachers in the classroom.

A literacy center is a station in a classroom, designated for a specific type of learning. In order to meet the needs of a variety of learners, educators need to know how to design and implement literacy centers in their classrooms.

Beth Whitaker received a 2023 William T. Kemper Fellowship for Teaching Excellence to Beth Whitaker.

The project, which will partner with up to 26 rural school districts throughout Missouri, will be fully implemented by fall 2023 and will connect to the schools’ Wi-Fi servers to monitor online activity for threatening language or images.

Preparing Adults for Work and Society (PAWS) is a residential program for post-secondary students with intellectual and developmental disabilities that will promote job skills, independent living skills and social skills.
