Mathematics Education (EdSp)
This degree is part of the Mathematics Education Program housed in the Department of Learning, Teaching and Curriculum. The degree program can be completed entirely online.
Designed for certified, practicing teachers, who already have their master’s degree, this program provides additional education related to mathematics education, leadership, curriculum development, and research. This degree prepares you for leadership positions outside the traditional classroom or curriculum related positions in central office.
This 30-credit hour program may be tailored to your specific situation with optional areas of focus in elementary or secondary education. This program is offered online and does not lead to certification.

Degree Requirements
To receive an EdSp in mathematics education, you must complete 30 credit hours beyond a master’s degree. Coursework is comprised of at least 15 hours at the 8000 level or higher. At least half the coursework must comprise education courses.

You must meet two sets of minimum qualifications in order to be considered for admission:
A committee of faculty members reviews your application’s credentials. You are not guaranteed admission even if you meet the minimum qualifications.
