Barbie Banks serves as the Manager of Student Support Services at Mizzou Academy. Barbie began her career in ResLife at Mizzou while she earned her Masters in Social Work. She then led the Adult and Community Education programs at Columbia Public School for 6 years. She then transitioned to working as an executive for Columbia Missouri’s own Ragtag Film Society. She left the arts non-profit world after 10 years to return to Mizzou and support the amazing things happening at Mizzou Academy.

Barbie Banks serves her community by sitting on the City’s Health and Human Services Commission, where she advocates for the essential needs of citizens in the city of Columbia, Missouri and is a stalwart member of CoMo Mobile Aid Collective. She spends her free time volunteering on the local community theater scene.
