Jeff Healy is an experienced educator and leader in language acquisition and communication. Originally from San Diego, California, Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from Oregon State University. After a successful career in sales and media advertising, he transitioned into education, seeking more meaningful and impactful work.
This led him to Florianópolis, Brazil, where he began teaching in an American high school program. It was there that he discovered a deep passion for teaching and for supporting English learners in their academic and personal growth.
With over a decade of experience in both in-person and online learning environments, Jeff brings a wealth of expertise in English language acquisition, curriculum development, and instructional leadership and he holds a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Jeff joined Mizzou Academy in 2018 as an Instructional Specialist and now leads the Speech and Debate courses, where he serves as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice and Co-Teach Speech Chair.
