Jill Clingan

Jill Clingan is a Composition and Literature Department Chair for Mizzou Academy’s CoTeach program. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Southwest Baptist University and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Kansas State University. As Chair, Ms. Clingan leads a team of five instructional specialists and works with high school students who are pursuing a dual diploma. She has traveled to southeast Brazil to work with schools and lead and present at international educational conferences. She has also authored and co-authored multiple language arts courses, an interactive grammar resource, and co-authored the book series Teaching Women’s and Gender Studies: Classroom Resources on Resistance, Representation, and Radical Hope with Dr. Kathryn Fishman-Weaver. Her work has also appeared in WestEnd Neighbors, Practicing Families, and Grit.

Ms. Clingan is passionate about partnering with classroom teachers, forming meaningful connections with colleagues and students, and fostering student success in an online, international setting. When she is not teaching or writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, chickens, and turkeys in Peculiar, Missouri.
