Marcia Edgar graduated from Graceland University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading. In 2006 she obtained a master’s degree in Elementary Administration from William Woods University. She began as a parent educator for Parents as Teachers and worked with gifted students. She then taught in the 5th-grade classroom. After teaching elementary students, she found her true passion was in special education. She worked as a speech implementer, obtained a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy, and became certified in Special Education. This led her to become a high school special education teacher for the next ten years. After 17 years in public education, she became a Pre-ETS Specialist at the University of Missouri. She says this is the most rewarding experience, and she can help her students build the foundation for their lives after high school.
