Minseok Yang is an Assistant Professor of PK12 Leadership and Policy in the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis (ELPA) at the University of Missouri.

His research interests include educator labor markets, school reforms, and teachers’ unions, with a special focus on marginalized populations and communities. To generate insight and understanding into challenges faced by students, teachers, and school leaders, he employs advanced quantitative methods, including quasi-experimental designs and machine learning techniques, into various types of large-scale data. His research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including AERA Open, Teaching and Teacher Education, Journal of Educational Administration, and Comparative Education Review, among other leading journals.

Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with a minor in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before joining the Mizzou faculty in 2023, he worked as an Assistant Professor of Education and Research Methods at West Texas A&M University. Prior to academia, he taught second, fifth, and sixth-grade students in a public elementary school in Korea.
