In August of 2015, the College of Education launched The Bridge as a “brave space” for students, faculty, and staff to develop and expand their multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills.
Goal: To develop and expand social justice perspectives
Mission: To expand perspectives on social issues through opportunities of learning, training, and service.
Vision: Connecting our shared humanity to address critical societal needs in education and human development.
Objectives:
- To prepare and support undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and professional staff in the College of Education & Human Development in their acquisition of increased levels of multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills
- To foster an understanding of the critical need to be a change agent within our College and out in the community
- To provide a brave space and supportive learning/work environment for students, faculty, and professional staff from differing backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences

- to learn more about yourself and others;
- to understand and develop of culturally-sensitive skills;
- to connect with faculty, professional staff, and students in the College of Education & Human Development as well as individuals at Mizzou and in the Columbia community
Students interested in further involvement can apply to join the Student Advisory Committee. Applications are reviewed each semester.
