Dr. Keely Alexander is a Licensed Psychologist and Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Missouri, where she also serves as Director of Clinical Training for the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology doctoral program. An alum of the program, Dr. Alexander brings a deep investment in the identity, values, and future of counseling psychology. She also serves as a board member for the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs (CCPTP).
Dr. Alexander’s professional experience spans academic teaching, clinical supervision, and applied mental health practice across college counseling and community settings. She has taught a wide range of graduate courses, including Theories and Techniques, Assessment, Group Counseling, Practicums, Supervision, and Career Development. Her teaching and supervision are grounded in strengths-based, socially responsive, and relational approaches. Specifically, her teaching style is student-center fostering experiential learning, inviting students to critically engage in course material, and encouraging self-reflection to raise awareness and critical consciousness.
Her leadership has extended to curriculum development, mentoring student instructors, and training paraprofessional staff in career services. She has also coordinated outreach, psychoeducation, and social justice initiatives across campus communities.
Dr. Alexander values advancing training in counseling psychology and representing the discipline’s unique contributions to education and practice. She is committed to fostering the next generation of counseling psychologists through inclusive, reflective, and justice-centered training.
