Sin U Lam

Dr. Sin U Lam (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in Counseling Psychology. She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her MA in Counseling from Northwestern University.
Sin U’s work centers on reducing mental health disparities for culturally and linguistically marginalized communities. Her research interests encompass three main areas: (a) examining the applicability and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions; (b) advancing multilingual psychotherapy and training practices to better serve linguistically marginalized communities; and (c) fostering the internationalization of counseling psychology.
Sin U has received clinical training across a variety of settings, including her pre-doctoral internship at Duke University Medical Center and practicum experiences in university counseling centers, VA hospitals, and community clinics.
