Bachelor’s Degrees leading to Teacher Certification

Our faculty and staff are committed to ensuring that all teacher education candidates will be successful and competent professional educators. As a research-intensive institution, faculty members engage in scholarship that directly informs the practice of teaching and teacher education. All the teacher education programs involve intensive field-based experiences beginning the sophomore year. Our Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education programs culminate in a year-long senior year internship — Senior Year On-Site Program (SYOSP) — which provides opportunities for candidates to develop strong relationships with students and staff in one school.

*With a soft launch in Fall 2025, we will begin offering three emphasis areas online in addition to the on-campus program option: Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. These are primarily asynchronous online programs that will require university-supervised, in-person fieldwork at assigned locations and the potential for synchronous seminars.
