Mizzou Academy Partners with The Missouri Health Care Association (MHCA) to Expand Access to Health-Related Courses
Posted in: NewsMizzou Academy and The Missouri Health Care Association (MHCA) have entered a partnership to support online training development for healthcare professionals. In the first year of this partnership, the two organizations will focus on Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Technician (CMT) training for adult learners.
“MHCA is excited to enter this partnership to enhance further educational opportunities for long-term care professionals,” said Meghan Travis Henderson, the MHCA Executive Director. “This partnership lays the foundation for expanding course work to adult and secondary learners, thereby bettering the lives of residents and patients in skilled care facilities, assisted living facilities and residential care facilities, home-healthcare, and hospice care. This partnership will also enable hospitals to train students and facilitate growth opportunities for patients, residents, and all staff of the facilities we serve.”
“Our mission at Mizzou Academy is to develop partnerships and build educational programs that help learners grow toward their individual potential and solve global challenges,” said Kathryn Fishman-Weaver, Mizzou Academy’s Executive Director. “Working with MHCA on healthcare education is a perfect fit for these aims. I’m confident that this partnership will make a positive difference not only for the students in class but also for our communities across Missouri. I am thrilled to see how this partnership expands over time.”
The two organizations are already at work setting up Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Technician (CMT) training courses in the Mizzou Academy learning management system. Under this partnership, The Missouri Health Care Association will be responsible for curriculum, instruction, and verification of course competencies. Mizzou Academy will host courses and provide consulting on best practices and online course design.
In the coming years, the organizations plan to expand their reach to include high school learners and additional health-related courses.
