Are you an MU student who is looking to volunteer and make a difference in a child’s life? Do you believe that helping young students succeed in education sets them up for a better life and helps create better communities? Let’s work together to show the State what it means to be a Tiger; leaders, professional, compassionate and a positive influence in lives across the state.

The Virtual Achieve Program was developed by Dr. Whitney located in the College of Education at Mizzou. Its goal is to pair talented college students with elementary students who are struggling academically in areas across the State of Missouri. Currently, the Virtual Achieve Program works with Confluence Academy, Old North Campus, an inner city charter school in St. Louis.

As a Virtual Achieve Program tutor, you will be asked to tutor one elementary student one hour each week over the internet. Tutors work in the reflector’s computer resource room in Townsend Hall. Technical and subject support are provided to all tutors. During the spring semester of each year all tutors are invited to the school to meet the students they have been tutoring and to tour the school, all expenses will be paid for by the program for this trip. Tutoring sessions are conducted every day of the week between 3 to 4:30.

Come make a difference in a child’s life that will last their lifetime by volunteering for this program for one hour a week.
